Park Shoe Repair, downtown Ann Arbor

Yesterday, sitting at the office I was in a bind…the strap for my Mary Jane’s broke, but I knew exactly where to go. Park Shoe Repair is conveniently down the street from the Food Co-Op where I was having lunch. When asked when I needed the strap fixed by I asked for an hour. The gentleman working wasn’t sure it could be done, but I was surprised when he agreed. Fifteen mins later I called to let him know to take his time, and to my surprise he had already finished and they were ready for pick-up! I’ll definitely be heading back for my shoe repair needs.

Park Shoe Repair is located in the Kerrytown District in downtown Ann Arbor at 120 N 4th Av #1.

Marnee Thai is favorited place of the Bouma Group! Located downtown Ann Arbor and just a block away from the Bouma Group office. Martin is such a regular there, he can be seen on any day of the week with his family, friends, and co-workers enjoying his favorite, the Chicken Pad Thai.

Earthen Jar

The weather has been unusually nice for this time of year, and what a great time to walk around to some of Ann Arbor’s treasures! A little blocked from the construction on the corner of S 5th Ave and W Liberty right now, Earthen Jar is tucked away next to Herb David Guitar studio and Jerusalem Garden. Earthen Jar is a great vegetarian restaurant you must try vegetarian or not!

East Delhi Bridge

The Delhi Bridge pictured above is actually not the original bridge that once occupied this spot. The original bridge was destroyed by a tornado in 1918. The bridge was built by the Wrought Iron Bridge Company of Canton, Ohio, a major and prolific bridge company with unique designs that are easily spotted.

 This bridge is located in a very picturesque setting, with a metro park close by, which offers awesome views of the bridge. Ruins of the Delhi Mills are still visible in the area, with some pretty rapids in the river in that area now also. The area is wooded, and the bridge seems to fit right in with its rural turn of the 20th century appearance. The demolition of this bridge and replacement with a modern slab of concrete would have had a severely detrimental effect on the beauty of the area.

Jolly Pumpkin Distillery, Dexter, MI | Brewery

We all know and love Jolly Pumpkin here in downtown Ann Arbor, MI but did you know that the Jolly Pumpkin brewery isn’t too far away? It is located at 3115 Broad St in Dexter, MI. They have 35 active beers and plenty of positive reviews!

They also have a brewery, restaurant, and distillery in Traverse City.
